BOBAS-NG (Built Occasionally Balloon-Attached Satellite - Next Generation) is an amateur high-altitude balloon project.

We've designed and implemented a modular system in which data between modules is being exchanged according to eSSI (enchanced SPI/Satellite/Sophisticated System Interconnect) protocol.

On our maiden voyage we are about to send the following elements into outer space:

• efmBackplane4 mainboard
• essi-board-lpc sensor and data storage module
• gsm cellular/2.4GHz radio and low temperature sensing module
• radio dual 70cm band (433MHz) radio module
• misc optical/vocal search assisting module

Some other elements developed during the project:

• eBackplane6 mainboard
• essi-prog prototyping module
• arm-gsm cellular modem module (unfinished/cancelled!)
